He earned his engineering degree from Auburn University and became a Professional Engineer and Certified Management Consultant. His career highlights include a decade as a manufacturing executive at 3M, where he was the youngest superintendent and played a pivotal role in producing the first home video films in the U.S. and supporting a European plant start-up.

In 1984, Davis Woodruff established Management Methods, a consulting firm dedicated to transforming businesses into leaders in cost-efficiency, quality, and environmental stewardship.
